La huff and puff is probably the worse hing that has come down the road for mainers since 1929! AUGUSTA, ME - Once again Governor LePage has been caught lying in order to justify his unpopular ideological agenda. In his never-ending quest to blame "welfare" for every problem in Maine, the governor invented it as a contributing factor to Maine's recent place in Forbes magazine's controversial ranking.*
According to the Lewiston Sun Journal:
"Gov. Paul LePage on Wednesday told a crowd of 100 people that a Forbes representative told his office the state must cut spending, reduce energy costs and address structural problems - which LePage interpreted as 'welfare' - or the state would continue to be 'in the cellar' of the magazine's rankings of the best states for business."
The Sun Journal reports that Forbes senior editor Kurt Badenhausen denies saying anything like that. In addition, a memo from the governor's economic policy adviser proves that the governor was lying. In reality, Badenhausen told the governor's staff that focusing on creating more jobs would improve Maine's ranking.
Since Governor LePage took office, Maine has lost 4,800 jobs and his proposed budget cuts are projected to cut another 4,400 public and private sector jobs in Maine.** In contrast, the country as a whole has seen 21 months of private sector job growth.
As you can see "It ain't just me that feels this way" trickle down =voo doo economics
