So what about this R running against Ms. Mikulski?
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 08:54 AM by unidentifiedbassplay
Pipkin, I think his name is. Apparently he's originally from Dundalk, moved to NY and got rich, came back to MD.

I want to know more about this guy. I've got a friend on the Shore who sees him as evil incarnate.

And another thing: don't be getting arrogant and not taking this guy seriously. I love our Senator, but the opposition are bastards, and part of the reason we've got Ehrlich in Annapolis right now is that he wasn't seen as enough of a threat soon enough.

1. No...
The reason we got Bobby Ehrlich is that KKT was a horrible choice. Hell, even I voted Bobby (i'm bummed I did, but I couldn't stand KKT or the corrupt Glendenning administration). Right now I'm incredibly pissed at Micheal Bush. I want my slot machines. I want something to do inbetween races at Old Hilltop and Laurel Park.

Either way, Let's all get on the O'Malley bandwagon now. I was wondering how early he can start raising funds.

3. Hell, let's just revitalize Leonardtown!
Probably before your time (and mine, for that matter.)

4. I wish someone else had run
as well, but I think KKT got something of a bad rap. I was not crazy about her, but was less crazy about the Erlich the Gingrich croney. Lesser of two evils and all that. Erlich is now invested in making O'Malley look bad. It will not be an easy battle to take back the Governor's house, but if anyone can it will be Martin. He has a web site http://www.friendsofomalley.org/ where contributions can be made.

6. Pipkin's a serious candidate:
And an effective politician. He has the money and he'll spend it. I think he's only been in the state senate for a year or two, but he holds office and has funding. I've heard mixed things about him. This said, he's a mainstream conservative Republican, and I'm not going to vote for him.

11. Tamlyn
dropped out. Kostas Alexakis is the candidate. He's a horrible candidate. He's horrible to his staff and worse yet he donated money to Shrub. He's not a real Democrat. I'd vote for Gilchrist.

9. He's a one-note canary
Just saw his ad on TV: Who knew Mikulski voted to raise taxes?

No substance, no charisma, nothing. Expect our state's most popular politician to roll to another victory!

10. Pipkin
is running to set himself up to beat Sarbanes. He knows he can't beat Mikulski.

On slots, Mike Busch is 100 percent correct. It will cause all sorts of other problems and is no solution for the budget mess. Maryland needs a progressive taxation system.

12. If you can't beat Mikulski, you sure as hell can't beat Sarbanes
Sarbanes will leave of his own volition.

13. Sarbanes
is always underestimated. However, he usually does a couple of points lower in his elections than Mikulski does.
