Dean, Dems to rally at Strathmore

Maryland Democrats announced plans this week for a May 17 rally featuring Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard B. Dean at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda.

"Maryland will be a political hot spot in 2006, starting with fiercely contested gubernatorial and senatorial races," Maryland Democratic Party Chairman Terry Lierman said in a statement.

The 5:30-7:30 p.m. rally will kick off the 2006 Maryland political season, according to the party. Tickets are available at www.mddems.org and must be bought in advance. Prices are $75, $50 for seniors and $25 for students. VIP tickets are $1,000. Call Dian Herrman at 301-858-8818 or 410-269-8818.
