O'Malley coming to Howard County
For folks in and around Hoco: Mayor Martin O'Malley will be in Howard County on Thursday July 14th for a meet & greet. The event is being hosted by Hoco Young Dems, Columbia Dem Club, DFA hoco, and the central committee.

It's in the ILB building at Howard Community College.
The speech is at 7pm followed by Q&A followed by a meet & greet. The event starts at 5:30 with the Mayor expected to meet and greet attendees before his speech. If you have any questions, want directions or a ride, feel free to post a reply here or email me.

The Young Dems are asking for a donation of $20 to join the club and to support them. (The event is free, however)

It doesn't matter who you support or if you're undecided. Show up to learn more about O'Malley and his policies and get a chance to meet one of the best politicans in the state (ok, that was a lil bit of bias there)

3. a majority of elected officials
in howard support him. So far he's concentrated more on montgomery but I do agree that getting the vote in anne arundel, howard and baltimore counties will be key. What works for him is that most baltimore tv stations reach all three counties and he's on them so much most people in those counties know him.

it will be the outlying counties that don't fall in the Baltimore-Washington corridor that will be important.

4. Questions
From Illinois trying to get caught up on Md. politics:
I read on MyDD that although Maryland is a deep blue state, there are more conservative blogs there than liberal. Is this true, and if so, why?
Is Michael Steele any relative of the right-wing writer Shelby Steele?
