that are supposedly to attract tourists to Maryland but are being run in Maryland and seem designed to improve Erlich's image in the state. There are several versions but the theme is if the person being spoken to in the ad goes to Maryland Erlich will do his household chores for him. One has Erlich promising to clean the gutters if the homeowner will only go vacation in Maryland. I know other governors have done similar things but that doesn't make it right, particularly when we are facinb budget shortfalls. I can't believe these ads convince a single tourist from another state to vacation in Maryland.

2. State sponsored advertising for Erlich |
|
Not just in Maryland but everywhere else expanding his name recognition for future gain. Don't like it, but I expect it is completely legal and we can't do anything but complain. There is advantage in having the office. We must do what we can to take that advantage away from him in '06.
