Longshot... 21136 Shuttle service knowledge, anyone? (m)

I am desperately in need of some sort of shuttle service to pick my son up from school each day and bring him home, which is about 1.5-2 miles from the school. We're in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area.

Does anyone know of a shuttle service in this area that would do that?

I've tried calling the various transportation services and they want 35.00 - 40.00 a day!!! That gets too pricey.

1. Public transportation?

I feel for your son. My high school (Montgomery Cty) was four miles from my home with no public transportation in the area to speak of at the time. Put a real cramp in my being able to participate in 'after school' activities since I didn't have a ride home.

You don't mention how old your son is. The distance is short enough to consider biking. Also, there are some buses, altho' they may not cover the area?

I would expect a private shuttle service to be quite expensive. Do you have a college/community college in the area? You might be able to hire a student w/ car to do it for much less, particularly if it is convenient (swinging by his school once a day).

2. Thanks for your response....

He is 12. He would love to do the bike thing. But, While it is a short distance,two of the three roads he'd need to travel are very narrow and windy with no side walks. The other is a major 5 lane road with a 50 mph speed limit--this one, he'd actually need to cross.

I've posted on craigs list and i'm calling taxi services. There aren't any colleges around that I can go through. Hopefully, something will turn up quickly.
