Baltimore tunnels closed.

Maryland DUers. The 895 and the Fort McHenry tunnels are closed for "security precautions". :eyes: Anyway, you might want to take Key Highway home tonight if you usually travel the tunnels.

BALTIMORE (Reuters) - Two major Baltimore tunnels -- the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel and the Fort McHenry Tunnel -- were closed on Tuesday as a "security precaution," disrupting traffic on one of the major highways serving the U.S. East Coast, authorities said.

A U.S. government official who declined to be identified said the two tunnels were closed due to an uncorroborated threat, and a detective with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police said the closing were due to "an unspecified terror threat."

The Harbor Tunnel, which carries traffic along Interstate 95, was completely closed, while one lane of the Fort McHenry Tunnel was closed in each direction, said the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

The tunnels were closed at 11:20 a.m., police said.

"It's just a security precaution," a police officer said. He would not provide any specifics on what prompted the closing.

3. Something is about to happen.
These TERRA! threats are getting more frequent. I'll bet it's the indictments. I just hope no one pulls a real TERRA! attack to keep the public eye off of them.

2. Erlich and the FBI closed the tunnels
without notifying O'Malley and other city officials. Asshat.

4. He didn't notify O'Malley?
That's fucked up. He also knew about this days ago. Just like in NY. He acts like he doesn't want to be reelected next year.

5. According to the 6:00 p.m. news last night
he did not notify O'Malley and O'Malley was interviewed saying he called the Governor and told him that perhaps the city might have been a help in traffic flow if nothing else. O'Malley was quite restrained.

I am sure it was an attempt to make O'Malley look bad. Hope Duncan does not make hay with this since he has chosen the negative route to the primary election.
