SEP 25, 2004 EVENT This Saturday

:kick:

Integrated York City Action Voter Registration Group

TO: Volunteers of the Registration Effort. INFORMATION SEPT 25, 2004

This past: Saturday Aug 18, 2004, we had a good result with 60 voter registrations generated by 18 volunteers. The rain had stopped and the blue sky came out to welcome voter registration in York. Thanks to all for supporting this effort with the gift of your TIME to get the Job done. We have created FANTASTIC RESULTS - TOTAL to Date -- 983 registrations - 91% new registrations in the City. YES! Our goal was facilitating 2004 New -York City citizen registrations Thru Oct 2, 2004. We have 2 Saturdays left to make a difference in registering voters, one after this weekend.

SEPTEMBER 25 Saturday 11:30 AM Training WORK - NOON to 3:30 PM.

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Combined effort of many independent volunteers to register Yorkers. This week is the finishing up parts of ward 12, ward 8, work at York College and Penn State, and work several in town commercial locations. We now register in pairs with you choosing to be either partisan or nonpartisan but all work where there is the lowest registration and voting rates. You can choose "door to door " work or a commercial store to work. MAKE A DIFFERENCE on November 2 by tapping one reservoir (York City) where many are unregistered and haven't voted before. We all will "get out the vote part" in October

WHERE TO MEET: Closed "Hardies" Restaurant along the north side of Mt. Rose Avenue, west of Albemarle ST. between Westfield St. The location is the Mount Rose Ave, just west of the Pizza shop and the Dollar Store. The old nearby Giant Food Market has been closed for some time.

DIRECTIONS: From I83 either north or south, get off at the Mt Rose Ave. (Haines Rd.), go west on Pa. 124 toward the York City. Third traffic light is Albemarle and Mt. Rose, go to far end of strip shopping center and then turn right into the old Hardee's parking lot. The store is vacant.
From US 30, take I-83 south at interchange with US30. Precede South I-83 two Mt. Rose interchange with I-83. Turn right at signal light at ramp onto Mt Rose Ave also being Pa. Route 124 west. Pick up with directions above from here.

TIME TO MEET: 11:30 AM for orientation/ training (please be prompt). Start door-to-door voter drive or scattered commercial locations by 12 Noon; work until around 3:30 PM. Work as long as you can, be assertive and please plan to work as many future events as possible. Questions Dan 717-755-5690
