Ehrlich To Return $16,000 To Lobbyist
BETHESDA, Md. -- Top Maryland lawmakers announced Wednesday plans to return political contributions received from Jack Abramoff, a Washington lobbyist who pleaded guilty to fraud.

Gov. Robert Ehrlich, a Republican, said Wednesday he will return $16,000 to Abramoff. He joints President George W. Bush and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay in either returning contributions they received from Abramoff or giving the money to charity.
*snip*
Although Ehrlich will return Abramoff's donations, he said he stands by a top aide who had been associated with the once-powerful lobbyist. Edward Miller, the governor's deputy chief of staff, founded a company later used by Abramoff to conceal kickbacks, according to court papers. Edward Miller later sold the company and was not named in the federal document.

"Ed Miller is a tremendous young man," Ehrlich said Wednesday. "He is chief of staff and will remain chief of staff."

1. Gov. Ehrlich of Md Is Out of Here Later this Year!
Md. Governor to Return Contribution From Lobbyist Guilty of Fraud

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - Governor Robert Ehrlich says he will return $16,000 in political contributions he received from Jack Abramoff, a Washington lobbyist who pleaded guilty to fraud.

Ehrlich, a Republican, joined President Bush and former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay in either returning contributions they received from Abramoff or giving the money to charity.

But Ehrlich says he stands by a top aide who had been associated with the once-powerful lobbyist. Edward Miller, the governor's deputy chief of staff, founded a company later used by Abramoff to conceal kickbacks, according to court papers. Miller later sold the company and was not named in the federal document.

The Daily Kos also notes, along with a ton of other goggled sites Governor Robert Ehrlich, of Maryland received $16,000.00 from Abramhoff.

Funny, but in literally every online newspaper it read Ehrlich, donated, and $16,000.00 repeatedly, rather then "he took."

All I can say is, "Buh-Bye, Ehrlich. The State of Md will not *even* miss ya when you're gone later this year!" Up for re-election - I don't think so now, nor earlier this year, last year, and the year back. No one I've yet to meet likes him. If he has any supporters, they've got to be far and in between

Hello O'Malley (D)!

2. Maryland Democrats DID NOT Receive Abramhoff $$ Directly
Democratic Senator Barbara Mikulski did not receive any money directly from Abramoff, but a spokeswoman says the senator will give about $5,000 in campaign contributions received from Indian tribes to the American Indian College Fund.

A spokesman for Democratic Congressman Steny Hoyer says he did not receive any direct contributions from Abramoff, but did receive donations from Indian tribes.
