I wonder if Cheney had anything to do with this. Secret energy meetings are right up his alley.

And doesn't this sound like price-fixing? You would think there was some agency that regulated this kind of thing, but not in Bush/Ehrlich World.

Secret deal at power auctions set electric prices in state

On three days this winter, representatives of Constellation Energy Group and a dozen other power companies quietly gathered somewhere in the East Tower of the Charles Center in downtown Baltimore for electricity auctions.

What happened inside is shrouded in a veil of bureaucratic and corporate secrecy so thick that some liken power auctions to papal elections.

But reverberations of the decisions made on those winter days will be felt in the wallets of Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. customers for years to come.
