But there is also Dutch Ruppersburger (not sure if I spelled his name right). He's had interest before and also has lots of experience. Between Duncan and O'Malley, it is O'Malley hands down. If Dutch is added to the mix, I am not so sure.
When is it time to start volunteering for the state Dem committee for 2006? I refuse to sit idly by again.

will be a factor. The campaigns will probably gear up after January. I have contacts in both campaigns. You can pm me after January and I can get your name to the campaign of your choice.

4. Now is the time to start volunteering for 2006 |
|
Part of the dems mission for this election was to energize and prep for 2006. Erlich must go.

O'Malley is going to take him down in 2006, and i for one will be on the front lines of that battle.

6. We MUST defeat Ehrlich |
|
Martin O'Malley has the best chance to do that. He was WAY ahead of both Ehrlich and Duncan in a recent Baltimore Sun poll.
In addition, O'Malley would be a very good governor. He really loves working to solve problems.

11. Was the Sun poll of the whole state - cause I got to say I think the Dem |
|
has to do more than just score big in Baltimore City, Montgomery, and P.G. County - he/she also has to keep it close in some of the rural counties as well. My impression is that Duncan has a better chance of doing that than O'Malley but I would like to hear the arguments otherwise if you can make them. And the police chief business (and also crime in Baltimore) worries me about O'Malley - is that going to be a drag on him? It is tough for big city mayors to win governor's seats - I know Schaeffer did it but he didn't have much in the way of opposition either. Erlich will be no push over.

7. I met Duncan while I was in High School... |
|
...and always thought he was a good guy.
I'll have to admit I don't know that much about his politics vs. those of O'Malley though.
If I'm still a Maryland resident when the '06 primaries roll around I guess I'll have to do myself some serious research.

I don't know enough about the gentlemen in question to vote at this point. But I have been seriously underwhelmed by some of the decisions coming out of Duncan's office in Mont. county.

to run against Ehrlich solely because he is extremley popular in the city and throughout the state. In 2002 I voted for Ehrlich but I was fresh out of high school and wasnt sure were I stood politically. Plus I hadnt really followed politics closley and someone convinced me to vote against KTT because she was part of the Glendening administaration which did nothing for the state in the 8 years they held office.
On another note I wouldnt count on O'Malley or Duncan being a shew-in over Ehrlich in '06. I am from the Dundalk area in which I thought heavily favored Democrats? But for some reason there is a strong support for Ehrlich. Alot of cars and business around my area have signs like "We love our Gov" and "Another Democrat for Ehrlich".
Lastly I am very interested in helping to campaign for O'malley and Sarbanes in '06. I have heard rumors that Pipkin will run again against Sarbanes in '06 and I would like to help prevent him from taking office. Ever since the '04 election in which Kerry lost I realized that it takes much more than just casting a vote to propel your choice into office. Pipkin seemed to catch on alot in my area from the signs and billboards all over Dundalk I saw. Anybody with any information please email me at nickshep7@hushmail.com or PM me.
