Ben Cardin rally with Senator Obama and Kweisi Mfume (pics/vid)
This morning, in an event set up by the Univ of Maryland College Democrats, Senator Barack Obama, Kweisi Mfume, Senator Mikulski, and other Maryland Democrats joined together on one platform in support BEN CARDIN for Senate. The event took place in the Nyumburu Ampitheater of the College Park campus at 9:00 am. Despite the early time, well over a thousand students and supporters swelled the area.

MSM coverage: <http://wjz.com/topstories/local_story_270081735.html Video from WJZ>

Notice the Washington Post's <http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/27/AR2006092700935.html coverage> is only about the "racial" implications of this rally. Nothing about the issues, nothing about better government, nothing about what Mfume or Obama even said...the media is only interested in the color of the skin of Cardin's supporters it seems. Anyways, the event went great and support for Cardin is swelling on campus and throughout the community. Read more about it and check in for more video and updates at the <http://collegedemsofmd.blogspot.com Maryland College Democrats blog>. We will be canvassing every weekend, and phonebanking several days a week until election day. If you are a UMCP, Bowie State or Prince George's Community College student (or a high school student in the area) please join up with us. Send me an e-mail at LHFANG@GMAIL.com if you'd like to get more involved. Theres a lot to do to get our extraordinary candidate, Ben Cardin, elected.

p.s. Thank you everyone involved for organizing and promoting this event.

1. This warms my heart
Its good to see all those Dems on one stage. I'm also glad to see Mfume standing tall right next to Cardin. Not that I had any doubts that he would. I hope he continues to do some campaigning for him.

4. This is a beautiful thing to see
Im glad to see the Cardin camp kickin it into gear. Like the kid said in his intro... "Michael Steel is the former Republican Party Chairman. Handpicked by KKKarl Rove, and funded by the far right to Hijack our state." Just keep pounding these facts into the everyones minds, get the troops rallied, and Steel is toast. Keep up the good work all! Peace

5. Ehrlich, too. If the base is fired up on election day, we should take
both rcaes easily. The question is, will the base turnout in the numbers we need. The Republicans are hoping for Presidential election turnout among their base. If they get it and we dont, we could be in for a long election night.
