Don't miss your chance to affect the election by confusing entertainment with civic duty!
Charlie Fink & The Georgetown Theatre Co. are proud to present BUSHWA: A Modern Ubu by John Morogiello. A sold-out hit at this summer's CapFringe Festival, BUSHWA returns to the DC area for only two weekends, October 6-15, at Round House Theatre Silver Spring, 8641 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD.
BUSHWA is an adaptation of Jarry's Ubu Roi, modernized to skewer a certain American president and avant garde theater. The Washington Post called BUSHWA "an intellectual field day" with "so many clever references you had to respectify it." In truth, it is a free-wheeling comedy that pushes the boundaries of taste. If you derive infantile pleasure from dirty words, if you enjoy the depiction of our president as a drooling simpleton, or even if you're nothing more than a fan of adaptations from the late 19th Century French avant garde, then this is the show for you, Pierre!
Directed by Catherine Aselford, starring Stefan Aleksander, Lori Boyd, Bette Cassatt, Elish Healy, Kenny Littlejohn, Jean Miller, and Armand Sindoni.
Performances are Thursdays-Saturdays @ 8,
Sunday matinees @ 3.
Additional performances: 10/14 @ 3, and 10/15 @ 8.
Caution: BUSHWA is as childish and vulgar as the administration it mocks. It is rated R for creative and compelling profanity. Some of them are so good, we've used them on friends.
