Cardin concerned about e-voting system
Story in today's WashPost: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/05/AR2006100501762.html

It's about time that at least one leading Democrat in Maryland has developed the guts to oppose Diebold.

1. the entire house of delegates
passed legislation requiring a verified paper trail. Let's not act like no Dems have acted on this.

4. Good work!
You pressured him to change his tune, and that's a huge step forward.

7. If Steele got elected
it would be extremely hard to unseat him in 2012, simply because of the power of incumbency.

I am not willing to concede a Senate seat to the rethugs, no matter what. I voted for Mfume, but I support Cardin.

We urgently need a Democrat majority in both houses of Congress to start taking this B*sh Misadministration to task for everything it has done since 2001.

8. all his points
about Cardin were bs. Cardin has been an honorable public servent and a good progressive over the course of his career. And we need to take over the Senate. But he doesn't care about kicking the Republicans out. He cares more about tearing down good Democrats. That's what the greens do.

9. I understand the mentality
My husband and I were active in the Citizens Party in the 1980s before returning to sanity and the Democratic Party. My brother-in-law was the Green candidate for governor of NJ last year, and we were furious with him for taking votes away from Gov. Corzine.

The Greens and the Citizens Party (which was a forerunner of the Green Party in the U.S.) have had many good ideas, but the result of what they do is to hand elections to the Repugs. And the Repugs have caused untold damage to our country and our precious democracy.

The best way to push Green and progressive ideas is from within the party, as Gov. Howard Dean is doing.

11. I'm wondering why Alex Zeese hasn't been banned yet
It's against the rules to promote third party candidates on DU.

10. alex zeese is an idiot
WTF Alex Zeese just admitted he'd rather have Michael Steele in Congress? True colors show on message boards I guess. Pathetic.
