The latest Steele ad accuses the Cardin campaign of stealing his SSN and looking up his credit report - and admitting to it in court. Any truth to this, or is this more BS? I find it hard to believe that someone would do that, even in a mud-filled campaign.

He also mentioned personal attacks and "you know the type". In other words, racist attacks. Besides the oreos and the one idiot staffer, I haven't heard any kind of racist attacks against Steele. Anyone else?

In the ad, Steele says "Cardin's team" by which I suppose he means the Democratic team. (by that logic, of course, Mark Foley is on Steele's team).

Federal prosecutors are investigating whether two Democratic Party researchers in Washington illegally obtained the credit report of Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele as they conducted opposition research on the likely Republican Senate candidate.

Phil Singer, a spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, acknowledged yesterday that two of his organization's employees had resigned as a result of the episode, which he said was subsequently referred to the U.S. attorney's office by the Democratic committee.

2. Indeed. imo, Steele is on the ropes.

He refuses to talk about iusses. His campaign has been entirely focused on this 'they wont stop picking on me' mentality. Its a desperate last pitch ploy to pull him up in the polls. It could work, but I doubt it.
