My General Election Predictions...
Edited on Sat Oct-07-06 10:42 PM by nickshepDEM
For what its worth...

Governor
O'Malley - 51%
Ehrlich - 48%
Other - 1%

US Senate
Cardin - 54%
Steele - 45%
Other - 1%

Comptroller
Franchot - 57%
McCarthy - 43%

Attorney General
Gansler - 58%
Rolle - 42%

Miscellaneous
Does Speaker Busch survive re-election? Yes
Does Sandy Schrader survive re-election? No
Does Brochin survive re-election? Ive heard no one campaigns harder than Brochin, but Ehrlich will run very strong in this district. Probably a toss-up. I just dont know enough to say one way or the other.
Who wins in the Howard County Exec race? From what Ive seen/read it looks like Merdon has the momentum - Merdon
Who wins the Harford County Exec race? Craig
Who wins Anne Arundel County Exec race? Ive heard this one is going to be close, too, but I really do not know enough.

1. I think most of your predictions are correct
I think Brochin loses and Schrader loses. I think the Senate numbers stay the same. We'll lose a seat or two in the house. I think we win the Anne Arundel race. I think Ulman has a decent shot in Howard. Too close to call right now.

2. Pretty good predictions
... I do think Ehrlich will pull it out though... but Cardin is going to waste Steele...

3. GambitMG, where in Maryland are you?

Why do you think Ehrlich will pull it out? All the polls point to a small, but realtively solid victory for O'Malley.

Also, in another thread you said you were 'cool' to O'Malley. If you dont mind me asking, why is that?

4. sure...
I live in Annapolis.

I'm not basing my opinion on the polls... just a "feeling" I'm getting for some reason. LOL, I can't really explain it, I just get this feeling that Ehrlich will make a late push, and his incumbancy will matter JUST enough for him to pull it out. It could go either way.

As for being "cool" on O'Malley - just a personal feeling. I haven't been overly thrilled with his work in Baltimore. Now, of course I said "cool" not "cold" or "not going to vote for him" or anything like that. Just that he didn't really get me overly excited - no big deal.

Candidates I support I am sometimes cool on, sometimes I love them, sometimes I barely like them. Depends on who they are.

...no matter how "cool" I am on O'Malley, won't really effect my opinion of Ehrlich... :-)
