Ehrlich concedes
Congratulations Governor-Elect Martin O'Malley!

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/elections/bal-governor1108,0,2716968.story

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has called Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley to concede in the race for governor, a spokesman for the mayor said today.

Ehrlich has scheduled an 11:30 a.m. press conference to speak further on the race. The governor did not concede when he addressed supporters shortly after midnight.

Results show the mayor with a roughly 90,000-vote advantage with more than 100,000 absentee ballots yet to be counted.

Buoyed by a national tide against Republicans, O'Malley declared victory in the governor's race last night, appearing to have prevailed in his long and difficult campaign against a popular incumbent. Despite a poor showing in the crucial Baltimore suburbs, Ehrlich said early this morning that he would not concede until thousands of absentee ballots are counted.

4. He's scheduled to speak within the hour
It will probably be to concede also. He should have been gracious and done it last evening. Jerk!

6. When I went to bed last night, Cardin had just pulled ahead - I was
pleasantly surprised this morning to see that Cardin was up by 150,000. And I said to my wife, that there was no way on earth that Steele could close that gap - even with absentee votes.

I should also say that my wife (a registered Republican) voted for both Cardin and O'Malley...usually we wind up canceling each others votes, but not this time!

7. That is so cool
Congratulations to you and your wife for picking the winners. I was scared yesterday because in the place where I worked the polls, Steele and Ehrlich were both winning. I can't believe how many Republicans are in Anne Arundel County-- it's time to move.

13. Really?
I guess I wasn't paying too much attention yesterday. I was more concerned about whether my vote would be counted...*sigh* I live in Annapolis. Perhaps I should head down to the State House and help Erlich pack? *lmao*

10. We also
likely picked up 8 seats in the House of Delegates and 1 seat in the State Senate.

11. That’s unbelievable.
Earlier this year I thought we would lose seats in both Senate and the House of Delegates.

14. Including Gianetti?
Does that include Gianetti losing in the Senate, since technically that's a pick-up now?

I have to go back and look. The two may include that. I know we knocked off Schraeder. Not sure about what else.
