The Maryland Progressive Summit 2005 will be held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel on Saturday, January 8th from 9-noon. To register, go to
http://www.energizethebase.com. It's $16 (including a box lunch) if you pre-register, or $20 at the door, but I think it "sold out" last time.
They haven't announced speakers yet, but I would imagine that it will be worth attending. The first one (held this October) was certainly well worth it. To get an idea of what you can probably expect, take a look at the agenda from the October summit, under "Past Summits" on the site linked above. In addition to the planned speakers/panels, Barbara Mikulski also made a surprise appearance. Martin O'Malley and Doug Duncan both spoke as well -- I think they were on the agenda, but I don't see them listed as it appears on the site. Oh, and I'm sure that the new state party chair, Terry Lierman, will speak, so that in itself is probably reason to attend!
Hope to see some of you there!!
