i also try to follow the Baltimore metro homicides -- it's terrible. I wonder how many these people who pull the trigger have ever contemplated the finality of death and the pain of grieving of the survivors. :(

In the case of that justifiable homicide, from what i read in the article, it was a no-win situation. I've taken some training in home gun defense, and it sounds like they did exactly the right thing by first warning the attacker not to come in (they should also say that they had a gun as a further deterence, not sure if that happened).
