O'Malley Campaign
Some folks here have asked about getting involved with the O'Malley campaign for Governor. O'Malley is having his big St. Patrick's Day event on Sunday, March 20. For more information, go to:

1. Have you signed on?
I worked for the Kerry campaign in the DC headquarters.

I haven't decided yet whether I'm up for another campaign or not, but Mayor Martin is our best chance to nip this MD Repuke hostile takeover attempt in the bud!

Repukes are jumping on Mayor Martin's promise to decrease the murder rate in Baltimore. The weird thing is that the murder rate in the suburbs is up this year, but Repukes don't want to discuss that.

3. The funny thing is
I keep seeing dems saying the same stuff on this board. It appears that Mr. Duncan is going to be using the argument as well. We should, even in the primary, go after the Republicans - Bush and Erlich who have wrought the devastation on the cities. Mayors are having a hard time making a silk purses out of a sows ears. Considering the underfunding combined with the increased costs of homeland security, they have little resources to work with.

6. What about the murder rate in the state as a whole?
It seems to me that Ehrlich is responsible for that. He is also responsible to some degree for the murder rate in Baltimore.

4. Are you referring to the St. Patrick's Fundraiser (March 20th)?
If so, that's just a giant fundraiser party ($40 per ticket).

I attended that during the mayoral primary (2003? The last year is a blur to me... after the long hours during the presidential campaign).

There's a receiving line, a quick handshake. Otherwise, it's just a giant party with great food, an open bar, and fabulous live music.

In spite of it being a fund raiser, I would have liked to attend, sounds like a fun party, but duty calls. Thanks for the info.
