Uxbridge man arrested in Internet sex sting

AUBURN, Mass. -- An online advertisement for a teenage housecleaner leads police to a potentially dirty discovery.

Fred Newhall, 41, of Uxbridge was arraigned in Worcester District Court on Monday after allegedly soliciting sex from minors on the Internet under the pretense of looking to hire a high school junior or senior maid.



Auburn police were searching for online prostitutes when they came across the Newhall's advertisement on craigslist.com.

Posing as a teenage girl, police set up a rendezvous with the suspect. They arrested Newhall when he showed up to the meeting spot in Auburn with condoms and alcohol.

Newhall is a father of two young children. His wife is expected to file for divorce.

AUBURN, Mass. -- An Uxbridge man was arrested after he allegedly tried to lure a teenager for sex on an online community listings page.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that Fred Newhall III, a father of two, is accused of trying to lure what he thought was a 15-year-old high school student for sex on Craigslist.org.

Newhall, 41, has been married for 15 years and is the father of two young children. Police said the Uxbridge man has never been in trouble with the law before.



Newhall was charged with inducing a minor into prostitution and attempting to commit rape of a child.

Newhall admitted advertising on Craigslist.org for a teenage house cleaner. Posing as a 15-year-old girl named Sara Underwood, Auburn Police Detective James Lyman responded to the ad, and the two messaged back and forth.

"He gave me a price list. If you clean, you get this. If there's light touching, that's how much you get. Right up to full contact being $500 a day," Lyman said.

My best guess is it's easier to hide in the right, pretending to be the opposite of what you are. Besides it often provides you with opportunities you otherwise wouldn't have.

Fred would throw up in his mouth if he heard he was being called a right-winger. I worked with him for years and he is as left-wing as they come. He and his parents DID NOT see eye-to-eye on almost anything. He was a proud and loud card carrying Liberal. Sorry to burst your bubble.
