BOSTON -- Two men who wandered onto the roof of the 209-year-old Massachusetts Statehouse and into an off-limits cupola atop the building's golden dome have agreed to resolve trespassing charges by performing community service and donating money to a charity.
Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley on Wednesday said Francisco Martin and Mehidi Hashambhoy agreed to perform 40 hours of community service and contribute $1,000 each to a fund that helps local high school seniors pay for college textbooks.

Martin told police he and Hashambhoy "just wanted to take some pictures," Conley said.
The men apparently climbed through an open window onto a catwalk leading to the roof of the building's west wing, Conley spokesman Jake Wark said. The men then walked toward the front of the building and accessed the cupola through a roof door in the dome.
