To non-Roman Catholics, the entire concept of annulling a marriage -- with a signed license, a church sacrament, decades of doing married stuff and plenty of kids -- is bizarre and byzantine.

1. I always thought that annulment was bizarre

But I've personally observed the role $$$ plays in the annulment process. It's one of the many reasons I don't have the same respect for the religion I had during my 12 years of Catholic school.

Most Catholics in Massachusetts have very few kids. I don't know why you disparage Catholics so much-most of them are Democrats.
