Dear District 9 Member,
In mid-September General Petraeus will report to Congress on the progress of the recent military “surge” in Iraq. We anticipate that the report will emphasize only successes and minimize all failures of the war. The Bush administration will immediately push for a vote on an additional $57 billion to supplement the war in Iraq. We want our Congressman, Stephen F. Lynch to vote NO to this upcoming supplemental war funding.
Therefore, we are asking each of you to CALL (and/or FAX) Representative Lynch’s office within the next two weeks, before the vote, and direct him to vote against the upcoming supplemental war budget. You may contact one, or all three, offices below. Please note that telephone calls are more effective than e-mails. Letters, sent by mail or fax, require your home address. *Note: Mail delivery to the Washington office continues to be delayed due to extra security measures. As our correspondence is urgent, pleas e mail it to the Boston or Brockton offices. If you are more comfortable asking for a specific person when you call, a contact person is given for each office.

In addition, we are planning another demonstration in South Boston for Wednesday, September 19th, rain or shine. We will meet at G Street and Day Boulevard beginning at 5:15 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. we will walk up G Street to our Representative’s home to urge him to vote as his constituents’ wish. We will provide signs. Please bring comfortable shoes, something to eat if you wish, and a friend. Parking is available at Carson Beach lot or off Day Boulevard.
You can make a difference. This is a very important vote and may be our last chance to stop more killing in Iraq until elections next year. Please pass this letter on to everyone concerned about ending the war. We look forward to seeing you on September 19th.
Sincerely,
The 9th District-Out of Iraq Coalition
