Brockton welcomes 152 soldiers homeBy Milton J. Valencia, Globe Staff | September 2, 2007
BROCKTON - Dana Fosdick left his 3-month-old daughter 15 months ago for his tour in Iraq. He missed the moments when she began to walk and talk.
So it was breathtaking for him yesterday when he held Lucy Fosdick, a little girl with long red hair, in his arms.
"It's hard to fathom right now," Fosdick said. "It's kind of like a dream. Surreal."
Fosdick was among 152 soldiers from the Massachusetts National Guard's 101st Field Artillery Regiment who returned to their headquarters in Brockton after a lengthy deployment in Iraq.

About 70 soldiers from the Army Reserve's 382d Military Police Battalion were also welcomed home yesterday in a celebration with barbecues and speeches at Fort Devens.
On Friday, families greeted a returning National Guard unit headquartered in Framingham.
