BROCKTON— For voters who put Mayor James E. Harrington in office for his second term, crime, youth programs and taxes top their list of concerns.

Harrington won his re-election bid Tuesday by 727 votes. Challenger Jass Stewart earned 47 percent of the votes, as voters looking for change begin to raise their voices.

During a Brockton Interfaith Community-sponsored debate during the mayoral campaign, Harrington pledged his support of such programs, Krikorian said. He hopes the mayor will make good on that claim when he meets with BIC later in the term.
