1. Raynham is
such a seedy, sad place, IMO. And that's the only place I've ever seen the dogs race in MA.

But I'm not much for banning stuff.

2. There's only one thing I'm worried about here...
Most of the time when they shut these places down, they can't find places for the dogs and are "forced" to kill them all. On the other hand, I can't explain how happy I am that they moved that eye sore out of Taunton years back.

4. The material provided by the pro-dog-racing crowd says...
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 08:52 AM by IanDB1
... that the racing dogs in Massachusetts all belong to happy, loving homes with owners who treat them as pets.

So, why the hell would the loving dog owners put their beloved family pets to sleep just because they have nowhere to race anymore?

I'm calling bullshit on the whole "save our dogs" story.

If someone has other reasons to vote in favor of keeping dog racing, then fine. But do not think that you're voting in favor of dog racing to keep the dogs from being put to sleep.

Either the "this will kill our dogs" story is bullshit, or else the "our dogs are beloved pets" story is bullshit.

"We love our racing dog. If he can't race, we'll kill him."

'scuse me??

They cannot BOTH be true.

Which means that either one or both of those lines put out by the track owners is a lie.

Which makes them liars.

Which makes me want to tell them to go fuck themselves.

3. I think you both should look into this issue
a bit more. Do you know that racing dogs spend up to 20 hours per day in a wire cage? They are fed crap food. Only 15% of racing dogs are adopted and the rest are put down.

This issue is not about gambling - it is about the dogs. You can go to www.protectdogs.org for more info on this ballot question.

Please - Vote for the dogs!

5. It is illegal to kill dogs in Massachusetts. That doesn't mean they ship
them out of state and that's their fate. And I know somwthing about what they are fed and it isn't crap.
