WAYLAND —

A woman accused of running a brothel at her Wayland Housing Authority apartment told police she only did it to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend, police said.

Amy McPherson, 32, was arrested Saturday at her 106 Main St. apartment on prostitution charges following a four-month investigation, according to a police report filed in Framingham District Court by Sgt. Jamie Berger.

The investigation began when police got a call Aug. 5 from Wayland Housing Authority Director Brian Boggia, who suspected McPherson and a second woman were soliciting on craigslist.org.

Berger said he and other detectives began monitoring the site, as well as others. Police found ads on several sites, including craigslist.org, teenescort.info, myproviderguide.com and localescortpages.com, with McPherson's phone number on them, Berger said.

The ads were titled, "Double Your Pleasure," "We are cousins," "Quality Sweets Simply Irresistible Upscale Treats," and "Italians Gone Wild."
