Driver tells Quincy police she was downing Listerine

QUINCY —

A woman charged with drunken driving told police that she had been downing Listerine mouthwash straight from the bottle while driving on Route 3A into the city.

Officers found an empty Listerine bottle and one that was half full in Kristen Cahill’s car when they arrested her shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday, Quincy Police Capt. John Dougan said. Cahill, 28, lives in East Bridgewater.

Original formula Listerine is 26.9 percent alcohol.

Another driver called police when he saw Cahill’s 2004 Nissan Altima being driven erratically north on Bridge Street in Weymouth. Cahill appeared to be nodding off behind the wheel, the other driver told police.

I've known several people named Cahill, none related.
