David Brudnoy doing last radio show tonight

WBZ TV reports he is gravely ill and requested one more show to say goodbye to his audience. (Skin cancer that hospitalized him last year spread to liver, kidneys and he is in 'very grave' condition.)

I listened a bit to his sub Jack Williams last night, thought he might be on holiday...don't agree with his politics but he's a hundred times better than the Limbaughs of the world...

4. He told LaPierre he asked for one last show

He insisted he say goodbye to his listeners so evidently he is doing some sort of on-air farewell tonight. I also did not agree with 90% of his views but you are right, he was at least not the blowbag that Limbaugh and his ilk are.

I used to listen to him from Cleveland, and can sometimes pick up the station here in the mountains of North Carolina. I'm very sorry to hear his condition has worsened.

6. sad but i know too much about him...

brudnoy has managed to dress up neanderthal thinking in an erudite presentation.

i also know about him through gay friends i trust to be reliable reporters, who found his personal behavior disturbing and deeply egregious.

i wish him no ill; i've never been a fan, and have always found him (particularly his movie reviews) to be condescending and elitist.

when F/911 was released, he gave it a D-, said it was a very boring movie, and featured some puffy beefcake straight to DVD movie as his pick of the week.

i had a LTE printed asking him which part did he find boring- the part about the goldstar mom crying in front of the white house, and got an e-mail from the editor thanking me taking him on over the issue.

And the erudite presentation was such a nice change from the right wing screamers, he became a voice I left on when I hit it while channel surfing.

8. NECN reported the other day that Brudnoy has but two days

to live as revealed by his MDs.

I, too, never cherished his so-called "conservative" talk radio or his writings. Hell. He didn't want to "come out" of the closet but was dragged out kicking and screaming due to his AIDS. He could no further hide that he was gay w/ AIDS. Nope, he's not one that I admire.

I'm glad he did not have to suffer for a long time. They said on BZ that he wanted to go today and he did.
