Santorum libels Boston

Santorum did this in 2002 but I wasn't aware of it until today's piece by Brian McGrory in the Globe.

The offending quote was this: ''When the culture is sick, every element in it becomes infected. While it is no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political, and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm."

I've already written his office and I'm going to try and find a moment to call. I'm outraged.

Dear Governor Romney:

While you may have checked out of Massachusetts for other opportunities, you are still, technically, our governor. As such, I find it imperative that you demand a formal apology from PA Senator Rick Santorum.

His comments that our "culture of Liberalism" fostered the Catholic molestation scandal is cruel and untrue. He is smearing the people of this state, and making light of the hundreds of children who were brutalized by these thugs, for political gain.

The people of Massachusetts will not stand for this, and expect you to respond in kind.

7. Apparently Kennedy called Santorum on it today

I think he demanded an apology to the people of Boston & Mass, but I'm not sure; I just heard it mentioned on AAR today.

8. Santorum along with Romney are both screwed

Romney now knows he has no shot at re election here. He's just a lame duck governeor for now so Im not expecting much out of him. Personally Id like a governor running on a Dem tichet that willing to bring back rent control to Boston.

It's gotten out of hand in this state and we need a pro consumer pro labor Dem in that seat.

Santorum is pretty much in the same position in PA. Dean has already proclaimed that his seat is one they are going after. Santorum is just going to sling mud and hide behind his mothers skirt crying "The Dems are so mean!!!"

Oh well.

Im looking for to 2006.
