Cindy Sheehan inspired me- I made the move.
I moved to the Otis Rotary, outside of Otis ANG base
for the Sunday Cape Cod exodus. While outside today
for nearly two hours with temps in low 80's and a
dew point of only about 50% It didn't take long to
feel the heat. (beautiful/dry) I cannot imagine what
toll it is taking physically on Cindy outside of the
Crawford pigfarm.

She is truly a hero.

Haven't had much rain 'round here, the ground
was so hard, the stakes of my new RIP sign broke
while trying to insert, so I held that, plus
the wake up America sign. 2 local cops and
2 state cops drove by and didn't stop me.
One very nice mad in a red Toyota Pruis stopped
and I told him to keep moving, so as not to
cause an accident. He had driven by earlier
waving- came back with a frozen unopened bottle
of Poland Springs water for me. How sweet is that!

Sorry no photos today, but next week, now that I know
I need to bring a metal stake and hammer to pound open
a place to put the signs.

If this stubborn butt-hole of a man keeps disrespecting
the mother of a fallen soldier, I'm gonna take a short
trip to Crawford on Aug 19th-22nd. If you're interested
in joining me, let me know

So anyway the Rotary has been test driven and I am
ready for the Labor Day Bourne Rotary Peace Rally.
What is so intriguing about this is that usually
all the Boston News Channels show up at the rotaries
to film the gridlocked traffic leaving Cape. Do you
think they might film it? Nah, probably not eh?

3. PuraVidaDreamin, as usual,
:yourock: :yourock: And you're right; he's not only disrespecting Ms. Sheehan, but all the parents of the fallen.
BTW, I met my husband on Otis AFB many moons ago! What kinds of reactions have you been getting there, besides the nice guy with the frozen water?

7. What a gas!
My hubby was born on Otis while his dad Vietnam Vet
was stationed there. Not sure how long it's been
since you've been here, but wow it changed.

As far as reactions go-
Some don't see me (hot pink lime green signs)
some pretend not to see me
most are on cell phones
lots of big macho suv/trucks with macho man middle fingers
More honks and waves, thumbs ups
Many honks after they have passed by and processed what they've seen
Lotta nose pickin.

LaborD traffic will be the tell tale sign for sure-
when bumper to bumper and folks have the time
to read the signs instead of zooming by at 45-60mph
I really excited for this day as Unhappy has lined up
the Veterans for Peace to be present.

5. Real time weather.
I'm in Ft Worth, 90 miles or so north of Crawford. Scattered thunder storms are cropping up with lightning and thunder. They are very local and may not affect Cindy, but they should drop the heat some. I hope she has a lot of sport drink--water is okay, but you need to keep the electrolytes up too.

May the God you believe in bless this woman.

8. Good point about replenishing electrolytes
There's another alternative that my kids and I have found this summer: Smart Water. I don't know if it's new or not, but we hadn't seen it until a few months ago. It's just water with electrolytes added to it. It helps a LOT. My kids (avid sports players all summer long) swear by it. When you want to avoid all of the sugar and semi-taste of Gatorade and other sports drinks, Smart Water is a great choice. Our local supermarkets carry it. Some have it in six packs while others have larger bottles. http://www.drinkbetterwater.com/

And no, I have no stock in the company. I wish I did! ;)
