I'm looking at my ballot now sorting out the candidates I don't know.
This site was helpful for more local positions:
http://www.boilermakerslocal169.com/areaoneendorsements... If I were going to the polls, I'd print that out, since the judges & board of trustees are listed on the ballot as nonpartisan - if you don't know ahead of time, it's impossible to know for that section who to vote for. (another good reason for voting by mail)
Is there a secret list of democrats that wanted to be on the ballot but aren't for some reason that would make sense as a write-in? For example, Pat Donofrio is my only choice for Judge of Court of Appeals, 2nd district, but Pat's donated to the republicans. And two of the three 16th circuit court positions I see have donated republican (biernat and Caretti), I don't know about Chrzanowski. Are we just leaving them blank?
And is there a second person in the Macomb Community College Board of Trustees list I should pick in addition to James Kelly? Anyone know?
(In the past, I never dealt much with the "nonpartisan" side of my ballot if I didn't know the people, but this year I want to get it right)
