I simply cannot understand why Thaddeus McCotter isn't being targeted by the Dems. His district has been ravaged by auto related layoffs/firings. I can't picture folks in Livonia and Garden City wanting more of the same.
I also thought it a bit strange to see the fundraiser pronounced a success before it's even held.

With approval ratings pegged at 25 percent, President Bush is viewed these days as political poison to John McCain.
But his West Michigan visit today confirms one advantage even unpopular lame-duck presidents wield -- cash.
Bush can be a big help to two Michigan congressional candidates by reaping hundreds of thousands of dollars in about an hour of schmoozing at a 1:45 p.m. private fundraiser at the Ada home of former Amway Corp. chief Dick DeVos.
Organizers expect fewer than 100 contributors, but donations start at $5,000 and go up from there.
Before the fundraiser, the president was to attend a meeting of local employers and business leaders at an undisclosed location. It is closed to the public.
White House spokeswoman Karen Reaves said Bush would make "very informal" remarks at that meeting.
The cash is slated for the National Republican Congressional Committee, which has keen interest in a pair of races where GOP incumbents could be in trouble.
