Anyone else seeing McCain ads in Michigan?
Even though he said he was pulling out of Michigan, I did see one this morning - paid for by the McCain campaign. I've seen other pro-McCain ads, but figured they were from a 527 group, but now I'm not so sure.

Besides the Traverse City area, where else might they be playing?

I've been trying to figure out where he got the money, but maybe that Wachovia loan to the RNC is being put to use.

1. Telephone calls have been heavy.
I figure he cannot control the media here as much as he had been able, so he can robo-call and feed lies, er, ah, mis-statements.

7. The robots are out in full force
I work from home and have been getting robot McCain calls all day for a while. That SNL skit about the robo-caller who wanted to just get back to being moviephone was funny.

8. Elizabeth Dole's robots are calling too
Forgot to mention that. We used to live in NC. So we've been getting political mail and calls from two states.

2. We get those stupid Freedom's Defense Fund ads of Obama and Kwame
on Macomb County cable. But nothing from McCain himself anymore.

6. Remember Mich has many right wing think tanks.
such as the Mackinac Group financed by Dow.. The certainly must have some spin off 527's that fights locally , probably in hopes of saving some local GOP arse.

4. Yup. The McCain/Palin signs are about 40% around here ... which is far better than 2004.
In 2004, the Bushies were about 70-80% of the lawn signs in this little corner of the Reich. Vinsetta and adjacent streets are home to insurance agency owners, real estate brokers, middle management, and corporate parasites like marketing/advertising agency types. "Middle class" (white) Shrine parish white collar upper-tier small business and lower-tier corporate with a sprinkling of dentists and doctors. I'd guess the most common job title is "general manager." It's "Ozzie & Harriet" land.

More 'rooted' to the community than many places, the folks aren't at all bad ... nice, provincial, work-ethic ... but insular.

5. I've seen more McCain signs.
I think it's about 5 McCain to 2 Obama in my direct neighborhood. We actually don't have many signs at all (my count uses 8 streets). My city went about 57-58% Kerry so it's a little surprising to see more McCain signs. But I remember more Bush signs too...signs don't necessarily reflect the support of an area.

As far as TV ads, I don't see any McCain anymore.
