Yes, Detroit can make a green turnaround
Please check out Nancy Skinner's Op Ed in today's Freep and then go to www.yeswecandetroit.com to sign her petition. We need an energy, environment and economic rescue package and Nancy has started a grassroots effort to help bring this about.

3. Yesterday's Free Press. (11/24) gave a better response.
Detroit has made strides to produce fuel efficient cars.. "Drive a Point to Congress." page one... Drive Detroit's fuel efficient caravan to the COngressional hearings .. in December. and "We want to help dispel the myths." The Congressional members are cowardly because they gave billions to AIG, Citicorp.. With no strings attached.. But, the auto companies are and have been working on the "Volt, " Ford has the efficient "Fusion," Focus," ... GM the Chevy Cobalt.. all over 36 highway..
Detroit, auto workers have a little cause to be a little defiant - drive your fuel efficient car to DC to help dispel many myths by those who have way too little regard for American manufactuting..

Fuel-efficient caravan planned for automakers' next trip to D.C.
