Michigan's 4th District House of Representatives seat
I am writing this as a request for support in throwing out the incumbent in this district.

Jerry Campbell is currently running for this seat which has been occupied by Dave Camp, a corporate pawn. Camp has held this seat for 20 years, how do you feel about what has taken place in Michigan for the past 20 years ?

If you are like Jerry and feel it is time for a change, please help us. We are all part of the OTHER 98 percent. We are a TRUE grass roots campaign, we do not have any billionaires buying us bus's to drive around the district.
It is currently just Jerry in his Jeep and me in my 10 year old chevy driving around the district. Trying to drum up support.

If you can would you drop a buck or two in an envelope and send it to"

Campbell for Congress
P.O. Box 5576
Saginaw, Mi
48603-5576
and after doing so send an email to all your friends in the district asking them to do the same.

If you can't spare a couple bucks and still want to help, send an email to either Jerry or me.

1. Have you guys talked to all the counties and such?
Been in touch with Grand Traverse or Leelanau yet? There's some real pockets of money in those two counties.

2. yes Leelanau Dems have donated,
Grand Traverse sez "the check is in the mail. We did not have to file our quarterly report for July 15th. Time Magazine sez "it costs 1.5 million dollars to buy a house seat today. We do not expect to get near that amount but sure would like to have enough to buy some tv time in October. This district is blood red and I think the party is treating us like a red headed step child. Jerry and I have stated, come November win/lose or draw that jackass is going to know he has been in a fight. But we do need all the help we can muster to make this work.

5. The party always disregards the 4th
And with good reason actually. You yourself know it's red

With that said, any help from the actual district organization? When I chaired the district I had each vice-chair organize a fundraiser for our candidate within their particular region. I had the district fund those events.

Also, plan to buy cable air time over network. It's as cheap as radio.

7. District support
has been lukewarm. I have been in communication with district chair. She has forwarded my emails to local committees and suggested they support Campbell for Congress. (Asked them ?)

As you may surmise, both Jerry and I are novices in this arena. Any suggestions and/or advice is appreciated. Now I have to figure out who to contact regarding cable air time.
Thank you

10. I can share a lot of info with you
In regard to cable airtime, just call your local cable company and ask for the sales department. When you meet with them they'll give you all the info you need.

You need to get (if you don't have already) a state party directory. You need to find out when all the county parties have their meetings and get to them. Campbell will have to appeal to each county personally. Also find out when everyone's events are and get to as many as possible. Find out when/where the next district meeting is and get to that.

You need to hook up with labor. Nevermind they aren't a big presence in the district, they run the political machine. Get them on your side. Convince them you can achieve something. Get Jerry on the phone raising money. Horrible though it is, that's how the game is played.

4. Yes I should have provided this link
In my original post,

He is also connected with Act Blue and accepts donations from credit or debit cards through them.
We do need money if we want to run a campaign with any hope of contacting the many disgruntled voters in this district.
Just now I am listening to Pat Buchanan on Morning Joe talking about "a big tea party concern regarding the deficit" yet these folks overlook the fact that extending unemployment for the middle class will cost 30 billion and extending Bush's tax cuts for the ultra rich will cost 687 billion. Republicans support the tax cuts. What hypocrites.

But we also need volunteers for door knocking, phone banking or just helping us get the message out.

noting your avatar, did you watch the game last night? ugh
