Michigan
its time to get out the vote.I hear people in Detroit don't want to vote.

Well with 26.5% unemployment it seem like there is a reason to get out the vote. I wonder do Detroiter's know that Republicans and Tea Party Candidates feel as though Unemployment Benefits make people lazy and don't want to work. So if Mr. Rick Snyder is true to republican values why would he create jobs in Michigan??And do they remember when their unemployment benefits were put on hold twice in one year (Sen.Bunning,Sen.DeMint)?? That was due to Republicans. I know that most people need their unemployment benefits so they can meet some of life's expenses. The Republicans do not feel that way Sharon Angle Joe Miller). Now Mr. Rick Snyder may want to create jobs but at who's expense???

Hey autoworkers how would you like a right-to-work state. Mr. Snyder has made no comment on this matter. And what administration gave you the Bridge Loans that everyone called a bailout. Had to be a Loan because you are paying it back!!!! There are some who are mad because the auto industry took a hit. Think of everything else involved and it could have been worse. There could have been no automakers. Which means losses to parts and suppliers, steel, plastics, vending machines, newspaper stands, stores around the plants, bars and taverns around the plant. It even affects advertising jobs. Now Automakers are hiring but at lower starting wages, but you can thank republicans for that (Corker,Shelby). They have foreign automakers in their states.Which brings me to the question How would a Republican govern a state that has such an industry??

What about the rhetoric they use when talking about poor people. The comments about they want to drug test clients who receive food stamps??? Seem like with 26.5% unemployment in Detroit, and 13.5% in the state, somebody is getting food stamps.Go to Media matter check out some of the things that republican candidates say. Take a look at Thaddeus McCotter,Candice Miller. These are Republicans.Use Google.

Not voting???? Well if you don't vote and things get worse I promise I won't be the one that said told you so. I'll say it now. I told you so!!!!!!!

1. Thanks for posting.
I'm in the 'burbs, not the city, but believe me, I'll be out there before the sun rises tomorrow so I can vote before I head off to work.

I hope tomorrow goes "better than expected" for us.

If food stamp recipients should be drug tested, than so should the entire management of every company that received government TARP funds, bailouts, or whatever. THEY should get a taste of their own medicine.

Fight on! We will never give up.

2. just got back from handing out flyers for Virg!!!!!
Edited on Mon Nov-01-10 05:43 PM by mstinamotorcity
I started getting a little discouraged when I started handing out flyers earlier because the first few people said they were not going to vote. But I just left the grocery store handing out flyers and there were quite a few people telling me they were going to vote. I feel better now. At first I had to come home and post this op before I finished it had me so mad. But thank you for replying. I really do feel better now. I also made up my mind that if I just got one person to vote then it will be all worth it. And thank you for being one.!!!!!!

4. Those not voting need to ask if they believe what the media made them believe.
Be careful if you believe the media memes of the Dems being too much, too loud, too soft, too much.

The fact remains: Republicans drove our economy into a ditch.

They'll do it again and again and again.

Get them out, keep them out with your vote.

5. What has got me is
Detroit is so culturally rich I don't see how they could win here. You have a huge african american, latino, muslim, and middle eastern population. These are all the ethnic backgrounds that the GOP can't stand. Oh they will steal their money but don't want them in no form of political power. How can they not hear the drums????The Republicans have said what it is they will do,and they are still sitting at home???? And the reason they are pushing Mr, Snyder here is because they are looking for the Golden Boy for 2016. They know 2012 is a possible no go. So they are calculating for 2016 believe that!!!!!! Mr.Snyder is the epitome of what they stand for. And that de-regulation thing he says scares the Hell out of me. And would his de-regulation meme have anything to do with Detroit Water and Sewage Rights???????? Been a suburban pet peeve for years!!!!!!
