Eastern Michigan University is to unveil today what it calls its most significant capital project ever: a $90-million Science Complex that features a spherical planetarium and classroom that's suspended five stories from the ground.
The project includes construction of an 80,000-square-foot addition and renovation of the existing 180,000-square-foot Mark Jefferson Building. The complex will house biology, chemistry, geography and geology, physics and astronomy and psychology departments.
Today's unveiling is by invitation only. A public open house is planned at a later date.
