From my email:
Every day in the Executive Office, we’re focused on going anywhere and doing anything to create jobs. And last week, that focus took me halfway around the world to Japan. I am determined to bring international investment to Michigan by pitching our state as the next global center of high-tech research and development. I am determined to create jobs and bring jobs home to Michigan. And we are telling the world: If you are a high-tech business or a life sciences business or an alternative energy business looking to open your doors or expand, look to Michigan first.
That was my message to Japanese corporate leaders, government officials and businesses 160 of them, in fact during my five-day visit. I hosted three seminars, traveled to six Japanese states and said the same thing everywhere I went: Michigan is the place to succeed in advanced automotive manufacturing, the life sciences and alternative energy development. It’s a message that has begun to pay dividends we’ve already attracted more than 500 new jobs from my trip to Japan that will be available to Michigan citizens soon. The link below will give you an in-depth look at my investment mission, including information on recent job-creation announcements.
http://www.GranholmforGov.com/JapanThis was a weeklong investment mission, but it was also part of a long-term strategy to reshape and grow our economy that starts right here at home with my Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow plan. Right now, across Michigan, we’re training workers to step into job openings that exist today through a MI Opportunity Partnership that will place thousands of unemployed citizens in good paying jobs by the end of this year. I’ve proposed a Jobs and Investment Act to completely overhaul Michigan’s business taxes, which will make our state more competitive, attract new investment and help our manufacturers. And pending action by the legislature, I’m anxious to pass the Jobs for Michigan Fund, which will invest up to $2 billion in creating new, 21st century jobs in the automotive, life sciences and alternative energy industries. http://www.GranholmforGov.com/JobsPlanThere is no question in my mind that if we roll up our sleeves and work together we will bring new businesses, new jobs and new opportunity to Michigan. I look forward to keeping you posted on our efforts and successes over the coming months. And don’t forget to spread the word about Team Granholm.

Can you imagine Engler, Posthumus, or DeVos taking such great lengths to encourage investment in Michigan?
