DeVos's Economic Plan
What a week of genius for DeVos. His brilliant jobs plan filled with Bush economics of cutting revenues and increasing costs has really reinforced the image that he has nothing to offer Michiganders. Since Bush's policies from the federal level have worked so well in Michigan thus far it's no wonder DeVos borrowed some ideas from the Republican playbook. Dick's economic plan is lacking on details and doesn't compare head to head agaisnt Governor Granholm's.

Also, the series of articles in the DetNews about his wealth and great jobs record are great reads.

This is a nice quote as well to give you some insight into the DeVos economic policy,

“I'm running a campaign here, not an economic analysis machine.” – Dick DeVos to the Detroit News when questioned about how he would pay for the tax cuts and programs he proposed in his economic handout.

2. MY GOD!!
Are they sure they didn't mix up a photo of some Chateau in France with the DeVos home? How absolutely obscene, who needs that much house?

4. The chateaux show some taste and artistry.
That monstrosity shows nothing but conspicuous consumption - and it's only one of three houses he has in Michigan. Even the "little" house on Lake Macatawa shows no architectural integrity or taste.

3. If this guy gets in---we're leaving Michigan as soon as possible
After Engler, after trying to hang in there with this stupid repub. legislator, low to no state revenues, three wars, inflation rising....

I just can't take much more of the millionaire/billionaire set. Beautiful state and its been my home forever, but I just can't take this shit anymore.

8. Engler could be pragmatic, and was a good manager, despite his politics
A good example is that Michigan allows gay singles to be foster and adoptive payments. He was in office 12 years and never changed that policy, despite his right-wing politics. He understood that we would never be able to replace the number of foster and adoptive parents if we were to suddenly refuse to allow gays to participate, and that those kids would end up in institutions, which would be bad for them and would cost the state more money.

He also got some good deals on office equipment and updated all the offices for the 90s.

He also never backed Dick and Betsy's plan for vouchers to fund schools. He knew it wouldn't work.

Devos will not show that kind of pragmatism ever. He's a rich man, whose family made their money dishonestly and he has never really had to work very hard for anything in his life. He is a christian dominionist, not a christian. He is not about protecting christians' rights to free speech, but about imposing his version of christianity on everyone.

5. We need more billionaire politicians
because the millionaire politicians haven't stolen enough from us. Hey Dick! How about giving away 85% of your family wealth to charity like Gates and Buffet? I mean, IF you REALLY want to help poor people... ...didn't think so.

6. Oh, he has a plan, but not one he can share with the voters.
His plan is to pillage our already Engler-pillaged treasury at the expense of the state's taxpayers. Money for education, social programs, retirement...rerouted into areas that can make money for him and his already disgustingly wealthy business associates.
I cannot understand how seemingly intelligent people who hate what the current squatters in our White House have done and were relieved when Engler left the state with his padded pockets, can actually fall for this DeVious line of unintelligible nonsense. I guess these are the same people who thought the little nitwit used to make sense.

9. Plus, his plan to eliminate the SBT without replacing the revenue is
threatening Michigan's bond rating. Great plan Dick.
