Has DeVos asked for a debate yet?
Challengers usually do that very early in the campaign. Usually, they feel they have the most to gain from a debate.

It'll be interesting to see, in this race, who asks first. My guess is that Amway Dick's handlers do NOT want him on the same stage as Granholm -- especially on live TV.

The Michigan GOP do doubt wants to keep him in tightly controlled situations. And, having seen him try to respond to questions off the cuff... that would be a smart strategy.

The more the voters see DeVos TV commercials and the less they see the REAL DeVos, the better off his campaign is.

1. On the DeVos website...
there's something about how they've repeatedly asked for debates and the Gov's camp is avoiding them.

REALITY - that can't possibly be even slightly true. There is not a better public speaker than the Governor, and she would smoke DeVos in a debate. I'm positive the Gov's campaign would jump for joy at the chance to get them both on the same stage. DeVos is a creep and a half!

2. Interesting...
I'm with you weeksbr1. DeVos has so much to lose by going up against her in a public debate, that I can't imagine Gov. Granholm wouldn't welcome the opportunity. DeVos can even handle a scripted TV spot made by his own campaign without looking uncomfortable, incompetent, and creepy, so I'd love to see what happens when you put him in front of live cameras and have the governor expose all of his skeletons.

3. DeVos to announce running mate
I don't know about the debates but DeVos is supposed to announce his running-mate today at 10:45, EDT according to the AP. It won't be surprising if he picks a female but it would be solely for political purposes. How hypocritical of DeVos, who opposes abortions in ALL cases, to pick a female running mate. What a slap in the face.

What do you think about this latest Granholm ad? www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nByfzaBJpM

4. He's trying to buy name recognition right now.
He's spent well over ten million on TV ads just to get people to recognize his name when the pollsters call. Now that people are about to start focusing on the campaigns, he needs something to distract voters from his lack of real-world knowledge, so he'll probably stage "town hall meetings" to act like he's not in a bubble, while he continues to avoid answering legitimate questions.
