This is a great plan -- Nancy is really on the ball--she is so ready to take on Washington!
Nancy Skinner Offers
The Next Great American Journey
Joe Knollenberg Takes Thousands of Dollars from the Oil Industry
With automobiles driving along Woodward Avenue as her backdrop, Democratic congressional candidate Nancy Skinner announced her premier intention for her first day in office. Calling it the Next Great American Journey, the Royal Oak native offered an incentive proposal to improve the environment, create more American jobs and potentially rescue one of the nation’s most historic industries in its automobile manufacturers.
"As my first act in Congress, I will work to introduce legislation to support a plan that will make America’s auto industry number one again, end our dependence on foreign oil, substantially reduce our carbon emissions and create paying jobs" said Skinner. "Joe Knollenberg and the Bush administration have done nothing to address these issues, working only to fatten the wallets of American oil companies with $6 billion of our tax dollars." Rep. Knollenberg has received over $56,000, if not more from the oil industry.
The proposal would repeal the $6 billion in tax subsidies given to the oil industry by President Bush and Rep. Joe Knollenberg and instead redirect those monies to a multi-beneficial program for the United States. (click here for The Next Great American Journey -
