Hi all,
Because I want a written response, and that representatives received bundles of email and that mail sent via US Postal Service is screened and delayed, I faxed my Representative this morning. Below is the language I used. Feel free to copy, plagiarize, or modify as needed for your Representative. Have a great day. Mike Dear Representative Levin
In accordance with the Constitution (Article II, Section I), every president swears an oath when he takes office. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
On Thursday, Judge Anna Diggs Taylor put an end to George W. Bush's warrant-less wire-tapping, declaring it as "a violation the APA (Administrative Procedures Act), the Separation of Powers doctrine, the First and Fourth Amendments of the United States Constitution, and the statutory law." Not only did she declare it a violation of the Constitution, but she permanently enjoined the government from doing so any further.
In other words, George W. Bush has broken his oath of protecting and defending the Constitution by committing this violation against the Constitution, and has violated statutory law.
When will impeachment proceedings begin, and what are you going to do to help bring about impeachment of President Bush and his administration?
A few years ago, Congress impeached President Bill Clinton for a much lesser crime, which did not also violate the Constitution. President Bush has not only violated his oath of office and the law, he has done so openly and willingly.
Please write me with the actions you plan on taking towards restoring our democracy and prosecuting this President and his administration.
Sincerely,
|
