These were actually taken on Friday, the night before the official cruise. They're out there every night of the week leading up to the big event.
I knew the police weren't going to let me hang out on the island for long, so I had to take photos fast. I was glad I got this many in the short time before the bicycle cops told me to hit the road.

I took some photos of some even better cars on the offical cruise day that I'll eventually post in the Lounge or somewhere, but I thought these belonged in the Michigan forum.

I saw Sharon's post too. Sorry I missed the party! I was going to brag that I shook Sen. Stabenow's hand when I saw her walking down the street. I told her I was looking forward to voting for her again in November. She smiled and said how much she appreciated that. She had a strong grip (for a Senator) I made my very first political contribution to Debbie's campaign years ago. It was her first foray into statewide politics. I think she ran for Governor. Not sure if she lost in the primary or general election?

Dick DeVos breezed past me while hustling to another fund-raising party at the Basha Medical building on Woodward near Beaumont Hospital. Dick's eyes are even beadier in person. The property owner must be a right winger, because the GOP is out in front of that building every year. I hope Beaumont doesn't have a business relationship with Basha, considering all the unionized workers that Beaumont employs.
