Bush Lover DeVos slaps the President in the Face

DeVos is one of the biggest financial supporters of Bush and then he goes and scolds him. Is it just me or is he running for political office or something?

LANSING -- Republican challenger Dick DeVos scolded President Bush Wednesday for failing to meet with Michigan's Big Three automakers about problems in their industry.

DeVos, running against Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm, said the lack of discussions with the bosses of General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group shows a lack of respect for the state's prime industry, and a lack of concern for its continuing job losses.

"The administration is wrong on this issue," DeVos said at an impromptu news conference he said resulted from a column by Detroit News writer Dan Howes in Wednesday's paper. In the column, Howes said the president's actions are misguided.

"The president needs to meet with the Big Three and it must happen soon," DeVos said. "Twenty-nine thousand people in Michigan lost jobs last month."

It's the first significant split between DeVos and Bush, who has been roundly criticized by Granholm for trade and domestic policies she says hurt Michigan. But DeVos also continued to charge that Granholm lacks leadership.

"It is sad that our governor cannot make a meeting happen," he said. "This is just incompetence all around."

Maybe if Governor Granholm were out there shilling for the little shit like you are she'd be able to make that meeting happen. Oh, but wait - the little shit didn't come to that meeting for you, either, even though you ARE out there pimping for him! I guess YOU didn't make the meeting happen and aren't much of a leader either! In a way, I wish Arnold could get a constitutional amendment passed allowing people born in other countries to be president of the U.S. Madeleine Albright and Jennifer Granholm were both born in Canada, and I think they'd be a wonderful team.

and we don't like it. You want to bust the union that represents the workers at the big 3. We don't need your poor advice. Your latest attack ad implied that you would have convinced Honda to build a plant in Michigan. Considering that Honda has made it absolutely clear that they will NEVER have a UAW plant, I'm assuming that you intend to make Michigan a "right to work" state, and thereby eliminate the unions. Go fuck yourself Dick.

Fortunately for us, DeVos is such a Bush crony and clone that any attempt to distance himself from the president is seen for exactly what it is: a pathetic, thinly-veiled farce designed to attract moderate and liberal voters. Unfortunately for DeVos, we aren't stupid.

8. Every One of DeVos's Attack Ads is a Phony Issue

Democrats should be exposing this as another one of DeVos's phony sales-pitch campaigns, if they have not already. As if now DeVos will "protect your jobs," etc.--ridiculous; there should be some "outsourcing AMWAY jobs to China" ads ready to go, and maybe some carefully handled ones on the cult that AMWAY sales are. I also wondered about this recent phony "Granholm didn't even try to get Honda to move here" slam-ads. The thing I started to wonder about was: does Granholm, and do any of us, actually want a Honda plant here? With all the devastation because of foreign-vehicle sales, to import another competitor to now be right next to the U.S. workers, non-union or at any rate not the unions here, so it could not possibly provide a job to any laid-off auto-worker here, and yet another thing dragging down the competitive level of pay and benefits--why would anyone here fight for a Honda, or anything else, plant, except to undercut the American auto industry? Total God-damned lie; just like the horrible old bumperstickers, "Reagan for Jobs," if anyone remembers that, against Carter.

but it left out that he was a job maker in China, not MI.
