1. I just watched the report...
All I can say is, WOW! That a mess. Ruth Johnson should be focused on fixing the problems and not running for Lieutenant Governor. Terri Lynn Land should be removed from office for not addressing these problems before the November election.

2. I met with an Oakland County Deputy Clerk under Ruth Johnson
in March of 2005 in order to give Ruth Johnson a copy of the votersunite.org booklet entitled
"Myth Breakers: Facts About Electronic Elections" which is an excellent resource about critical flaws with voting machines including footnotes from the 2004 election. The Deputy Clerk spent over an hour with me, and he said he would pass it on to Ruth Johnson. From the current Oakland County directory, I no longer see the name of the clerk I met with so I cannot make another contact with him. I will make a general follow-up call this week anyway. Thanks for the video link, pwreid.

I urge more Michigan DUers to check out the votersunite.org website, and in particular the Myth Breakers booklet which can be downloaded. Though it doesn't cover the new voting machines we now have, it is superb in detailing the HUGE amount of problems that we've had across the country. Please sign up if you can for your county to get the message out to our elected county election officials that we're watching them and the machines. Oakland Couty is the only county in MI that a verified copy of Myth Breakers has been delivered to the election officials. (There is a list you can check to see the current status.)

I totally agree this is very, very scary news.

3. Voting machine rip offs
Your behind Ohio so let me tell you what the next step in. The machine company will claim that there is nothing wrong with the machine and that the poll workers didn't know how to use them. Then they will offer their expert service for the sum of 400,000 dollars.
Cool deal isn't it. And their stocks keep inching down, I'm betting that the share holders wish that they stayed in the ATM and metal cabinet business.
