GD folks want to boycott GM?
Some of the folks in GD are in a such a snit about General Motors hiring Sean Hannity that they are encouraging people to boycott GM products.

I am not a fan of Hannity (who here is?). But a bad decision by GM's marketing department is not a good reason to advocate harm to union workers -- and a state whose DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR is in a tight race for reelection.

I am sure there are those here who will agree with me. Please weigh in on that thread and any others advocating that position.

1. How many GM Union workers do we really have left in Michigan?
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 09:02 PM by sarcasmo
My Dad works at one of the last standing GM plants in Saginaw and says his plant is closing in March. If GM is dumb enough to hire a Right Wing tool to push it's product then I understand why I and others would boycott. We bought a SaturnVue and the only reason I bought that was because it had a Honda 250 engine.
I realize Union jobs are at stake, but you need to make good cars and even smarter choices. Let's say they hire Rush limpballs to promote the Hummer, would you still say let's not harm union jobs. I have no more loyalty to GM the way they have treated my Dad and his fellow employees.

2. Thousands of UAW workers are left
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 08:58 AM by LuckyTheDog
Not to mention thousands more engineering jobs and other white-collar positions.

I reduse to join in any effort that would hasten the ruin of Michigan's economy. Real people, with real familiies would get hurt. This isn't a game. People are losing their homes.

3. This economy is already in ruins. I have seen first hand the damage GM
has done to families. My Dad was sent to Ohio to keep his job and almost destroyed my youngest sister. I have no remorse for GM. Keep making stupid choices like pushing the Hummer and Toyota will be number one next year.
