G4G Talking Points 10/2
MONDAY, OCTOBER 2 (36 Days until Victory 2006)

The first Gubernatorial debate is tonight at 8PM on Public Television and most FOX affiliates. Tune in.

The Choice: Governor Granholm puts Michigan’s people first and she is fighting for us. Meanwhile, Dick DeVos fights for powerful special interests and the fortunate few at our expense, so he could benefit.

Fighting For Us: Governor Granholm is going anywhere and doing anything to bring jobs to Michigan while she fights to protect the pocketbooks and safety of our families and to educate our kids. She knows that Michigan is hurting, but she has set in motion the most comprehensive economic plan in the nation to bring jobs to our state and keep them here.

A Lot of Questions To Answer: Despite an unprecedented television advertising blitz, voters still don’t know a lot about who Dick DeVos is and what he stands for. He has avoided public appearances and rarely takes questions from the press. Will DeVos come clean tonight about his real record, or will he continue to give non-answers and be evasive on the tough questions?

The Real Dick DeVos: DeVos says he is a jobs maker for Michigan, but his record as a businessman shows he eliminated jobs in Michigan and created them overseas. He’s given millions of dollars to right-wing politicians and organizations that advocated for the Bush economic policies that have hurt Michigan families.

New Ad: The Granholm campaign released a new ad this morning about the Governor’s efforts to bring Whirlpool to Michigan, creating 400 jobs. Click here to view the ad…MONDAY, OCTOBER 2 (36 Days until Victory 2006)

Saginaw News Letter: Creating jobs
While Dick DeVos, Republican gubernatorial candidate, fights for corporate leaders who downsize their corporations, outsource Michigan jobs and benefit from the Bush administration's unfair trade agreements, Democratic Gov. Jennifer Granholm is aggressively fighting for Michigan workers. Gov. Granholm developed a $6 billion "Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow" economic plan to diversify Michigan's economy and to create jobs. Through this initiative, Michigan's citizens are being employed in road and bridge construction, environmental cleanup efforts and nursing home improvements.

1. Go Granholm!!!
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 10:30 AM by roamer65
Dick DeVos is a loser. All she needs to do is mention scAmway about 4-5 times tonite and she'll win.

Dick DeVos as a scAmway exec shipped Michigan jobs to China. That's enough for me to dislike him, given our horrid unemployment rate.

More jobs were lost during Engler's last two years in office, than the last 4 years of Granholm. Jennifer is fighting to keep jobs.

Even MI moderate Rethugs can't stand him...

2. So you dislike the big three as well?
Way to justify the jobs loss here as well. She is fighting for jobs, yeah right. Sorry not buying it with only 1000 google jobs coming to the state, Then the fact that she is trying to court Japanese automakers who do not hire union. Yep good job there, leave the unions in the hole.

I doubt I will vote for Devos, but I will not vote for Granholm either. Engler was shit, and Granholm has compounded the problems in this state to the point where it is about time to pack up and leave. If she does win again I probably will do just that, I can not sit here and watch this beautiful state be destroyed by another Governor. Is Devos the answer? Nope do not believe that, Granholm is not the answer either to bad we do not have a viable third party.

3. Soooo...
You say that you won't vote for Devos and you refuse to vote for Governor Granholm. The state does not have a viable third party candidate. May I ask, what exactly brings you to this site?
I'm not trying to be adversarial, just curious...
