The first Gubernatorial debate is tonight at 8PM on Public Television and most FOX affiliates. Tune in.
The Choice: Governor Granholm puts Michigan’s people first and she is fighting for us. Meanwhile, Dick DeVos fights for powerful special interests and the fortunate few at our expense, so he could benefit.
Fighting For Us: Governor Granholm is going anywhere and doing anything to bring jobs to Michigan while she fights to protect the pocketbooks and safety of our families and to educate our kids. She knows that Michigan is hurting, but she has set in motion the most comprehensive economic plan in the nation to bring jobs to our state and keep them here.
A Lot of Questions To Answer: Despite an unprecedented television advertising blitz, voters still don’t know a lot about who Dick DeVos is and what he stands for. He has avoided public appearances and rarely takes questions from the press. Will DeVos come clean tonight about his real record, or will he continue to give non-answers and be evasive on the tough questions?
The Real Dick DeVos: DeVos says he is a jobs maker for Michigan, but his record as a businessman shows he eliminated jobs in Michigan and created them overseas. He’s given millions of dollars to right-wing politicians and organizations that advocated for the Bush economic policies that have hurt Michigan families.

The Associated Press: Michigan's minimum wage increasing to $6.95 an hour
Michigan's minimum wage is increasing to $6.95 an hour from $5.15 an hour starting Sunday. The increase is the first of three scheduled to take effect over the next two years under legislation signed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm. It will increase to $7.15 an hour on July 1 and to $7.40 an hour on July 1, 2008. Granholm said in a statement that more than 460,000 workers across Michigan will benefit from the increase.

Jennifer Granholm is aggressively fighting for Michigan workers. Gov. Granholm developed a $6 billion "Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow" economic plan to diversify Michigan's economy and to create jobs. Through this initiative, Michigan's citizens are being employed in road and bridge construction, environmental cleanup efforts and nursing home improvements.
