How is the MI state House and Senate looking?
Hopefully we're close to gaining control of them.

1. there's a thread further down about D's taking the st. House

I.e. Republicans saying they have between 52 and 54 seats, the rest going D (out of 110).

The DLCC website hasn't registered a call on the st. Senate.

2. Well, it looks like Andy Levin beat John Poppageorge.

Looking at the Oakland County election returns, at least.

STATE SENATOR 13TH DISTRICT
(115 Of 141 Precincts Reported)
John Pappageorge 37,858 45.96%
Andy Levin 42,105 51.12%

Pappageorge (the bigot) ran some filthy, despicable ads. :grr: Good riddance!

4. This is amazing news!
They weren't reporting anything for ages. I just got home from Nancy's party. When I left she was down 50-47 with only 7% reporting, but when I got home she was down 53-45 with 57% reporting. Not looking great, but we know Pontiac wasn't in yet, and we're sure she won big there. I don't think it's over yet.

I think Andy winning makes it look better for her. I've got my fingers crossed.

5. Great news!!!!
Glad to hear Andy Levin won (or is wining). I look for him to run for his uncle's U.S. Senate seat whenever he retires.

6. Cool, we can leverage with the Governor and the House.
The state senate would just be icing on the cake and Lt Gov Cherry would be a tie breaker if the senate splits.

8. Now that we have the house...
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 08:50 PM by maddogesq
we can get Aldo's ideas out of committee, and Gubna Pretty Eyes has the bully pulpit.

Oh, and may many, many blessings come to Nancy for her showing in the 9th. In her best Ahhhnold, I hope she is saying "I'll be back!" :)
